HUMAN RIGHTS POLICY
The Axvircle Human Rights Policy clarifies our approach to respecting human rights in pursuit of the ‘realization of a sustainable environment, society and economy’ as outlined in our Sustainability Policy. It serves as a guiding principle for our efforts and forms the foundation for all business activities conducted by Axvircle Co., Ltd. (‘Axvircle’).
Axvircle recognizes the human rights enshrined in international human rights instruments, including the International Bill of Human Rights, the International Labour Organization (ILO) Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and the ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact, as the minimum standard. Axvircle respects these human rights and conducts its business activities based on these principles.
Axvircle recognizes that its business operations may directly or indirectly impact human rights. To respect the human rights of all individuals involved in its business, Axvircle hereby establishes the ‘Axvircle Human Rights Policy’ (this Policy) and will promote initiatives to respect human rights.
1.Scope of Application
This Policy applies to Axvircle's officers, employees, and other personnel. Furthermore, Axvircle requests that all persons involved in its business activities support this Policy and adopt similar policies. *Officers, employees, and other personnel include Axvircle's directors, executive officers, advisors, consultants, employees, fixed-term employees (including contract workers, part-time workers, and temporary staff), seconded personnel, and agency workers.
2.Responsibility for Respecting Human Rights
Axvircle shall fulfil its responsibility to respect human rights by implementing appropriate remedial, preventive, and mitigating measures to address any adverse human rights impacts arising from its business activities or where it is found to have contributed to such impacts. Furthermore, Axvircle shall encourage all people involved in its business activities to take appropriate action where adverse human rights impacts are occurring.
Compliance with Applicable Laws and Regulations
Axvircle shall comply with the laws and regulations applicable in each country and region where it conducts business activities. Where conflicts arise between internationally recognized human rights and the laws and regulations of a particular country or region, Axvircle shall pursue approaches that respect internationally recognized human rights principles.
4.Commitment to Human Rights Issues
Axvircle complies with national and regional laws and regulations in all its business activities and fulfils its responsibility to respect human rights.
Axvircle recognizes that addressing the following human rights issues is a crucial element. It stipulates respect for human rights in the ‘Axvircle Code of Conduct’, disseminates this information, and ensures strict compliance by its officers, employees, and others.
- We eliminate and abolish all discrimination in employment and work based on race, ethnicity, nationality, creed, religion, disability, family origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, health status, etc.
- We do not tolerate any words or actions that cause harm to others, whether mental or physical, nor any form of harassment.
- We do not tolerate forced labour or child labour.
- We respect the freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining in accordance with applicable laws and regulations in the countries and regions where we conduct business.
- We comply with applicable laws and regulations concerning working hours and wages in the countries and regions where we conduct business. Furthermore, we strive to reduce excessive working hours and guarantee wages exceeding the statutory minimum wage.
5.Human Rights Due Diligence
Axvircle shall regularly and continuously conduct human rights due diligence to identify, assess, prevent, and mitigate adverse human rights impacts related to its business activities. Should it become apparent that Axvircle's business activities are causing or contributing to adverse human rights impacts, we shall work towards rectification and remedy through appropriate means.
6.Dialogue and Consultation (Engagement with Stakeholders)
Axvircle will actively engage in dialogue and consultation with stakeholders who are affected, or potentially affected, by actual or potentially adverse human rights impacts arising from our business activities. This includes utilizing external expertise on human rights matters to implement this policy and to identify issues and work towards their improvement.
7.Education and Awareness
Axvircle shall provide appropriate education and capacity development to its officers and employees, whilst endeavoring to promote understanding amongst all persons involved in Axvircle's business activities.
8.Reporting and Disclosure
Axvircle shall disclose its human rights respect initiatives based on this policy via its website and reports.
9.Governance Framework
The President and Representative Director shall oversee the promotion of human rights initiatives and monitor compliance with this policy.
10.Hotline
Axvircle fosters a culture of open and candid communication. Employees may consult the external hotline officer responsible for working conditions regarding human rights concerns.
Axvircle recognizes that specific issues requiring attention may evolve due to societal changes and business developments. We will regularly review this policy through dialogue and consultation with stakeholders and external experts.
